NUVO TECHNOLOGIES UNVEILS TWO NEW PRODUCTS
November 1, 2003, CINCINNATI, OH - NuVo Technologies has announced the release of two new, upgraded products for the Fall quarter.
Essentia™, NuVo’s six-source, six-zone audio system, which brought revolutionary features and flexibility to the world of distributed audio systems, is now improved and better than ever. The new Essentia D™ System has been enhanced with the Generation D protocol, which utilizes the D Amplifier™ digital output by Philips Semiconductors. The highly reliable D Amplifier™ reduces energy consumption, dramatically reduces heat, and delivers stunningly clear sound.
Features of the upgrade include:
- Generation D digital amplification, providing 20 watts per channel for 40 total watts of pure, clean sound in each zone.
- RS232 serial data port for system control via a home automation device.
- Fixed and variable lineouts available simultaneously for each zone.
- A new backlit keypad redesigned to fit into any standard Decora-style cover plate, with white, ivory, and almond inserts shipped with each keypad.
- NuVo’s EZ Port connection hub simplifies installation by reducing all the Cat-5 cable connections to one network input.
The NuVo Essentia D package contains one E6M distribution amplifier, six keypad controllers, one RC2 remote controller, four IR Emitters, one NuVo EZ Port, and a network connection cable. The system will begin shipping to customers in November at a retail price of just $1,999.00.
NuVo has also introduced the AccentPLUS1™ line of in-wall and in-ceiling speakers. The speakers show off a new, sleek, low-profile design and a micro-perforated, paintable grill that lets speakers blend seamlessly with any home decor.
Other features include:
- A high-quality 12dB crossover that provides a more balanced and defined listening experience.
- Solid brass terminals that resist corrosion and provide greater contact with the audio wire for better audio quality.
- A special perforated basket that helps prevent debris from falling into the cone.
- Silk-dome pivotal tweeters.
- A new, single/dual-voice coil 6 1/2" round stereo speaker.
Speakers will begin shipping in December. Retail prices range from $129 for the 6 1/2" stereo speaker to $299 for the 8" in-wall speaker.
