NUVO TECHNOLOGIES’ DAVID RODARTE HONORED WITH THE 2008 CEA TECHHOME LEADERSHIP AWARD

Leader of whole-home audio products manufacturer is lauded for his volunteerism on behalf of the electronics industry.

Hebron, KY – March 20, 2008 – NuVo Technologies President and Chief Operating Officer David Rodarte was awarded the Consumer Electronics Association’s (CEA’s) 2008 TechHome Leadership Award during a ceremony at last week’s ninth annual Spring Electronic House Expo (EHX) in Orlando, Fla. The award is presented each year to a person who has made significant contributions to the growth and success of the TechHome industry by displaying uncommon dedication and service. Rodarte received the CEA’s high honor for his many accomplishments on behalf of the electronics industry, particularly his volunteerism, vision, innovation, visibility and pioneering spirit.

In addition to his stewardship of NuVo, Rodarte is heavily involved with CEA and donates significant time as an industry spokesman and cross-industry bridge-builder. In particular, Rodarte has devoted much of his volunteerism to the promotion of the whole-home audio category, as well as to working with organizations like the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) to promote greater understanding and cooperation between the consumer electronics and builder industries.

Rodarte serves as chairperson of the CEA Builder Initiative and as a board member of CEA TechHome, which represents the entire channel for home control, entertainment and networking products, including integrators, distributors and manufacturers. He also recently served as a board member of the CEA Multi-Room Audio Video Council, a seat now occupied by his trusted lieutenant, NuVo Marketing Director Trudi Luebberst. Additionally, Rodarte is a member of NAHB’s Home Technology Alliance workgroup, which was founded to assist builders in understanding consumer electronics trends and applications as they apply to new home construction.

In his “day job” at NuVo, Rodarte has earned a reputation for rapidly accelerating businesses through market analysis, organizational effectiveness and strategic planning. From the 2002 inception of the company, Rodarte has led NuVo’s growth, branding and positioning. Today, NuVo is widely recognized as the fastest-growing brand within its market niche, as Rodarte has intuitively steered NuVo to its high-value/high-quality philosophy and closed-distribution structure. While 2007 was a moderate growth year in the overall multi-room audio/video category—CEA reports that it grew 1.2 percent in 2007—NuVo experienced a remarkable 49.6 percent growth in U.S. sales and 97 percent growth in international sales last year.

Outside of the CE industry, Rodarte serves on the Board of Directors for Sherry Laboratories, a third-party independent laboratory for environmental testing.
